From 43897789a1d46251a9d27f06c90f47913b019d84 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Cody Boone Ferguson <53008573+xexyl@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2023 04:34:08 -0800 Subject: [PATCH] Fix and improve 2005/giljade/try.sh After one exited less(1) the text about leaving the file there for one to look at it with an editor was on the same line as other output. Also use less -X so that the screen is not cleared. That way one can see the last part of the file that they looked at. --- 2005/giljade/try.sh | 5 +++-- 1 file changed, 3 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git a/2005/giljade/try.sh b/2005/giljade/try.sh index 233bd7535..866edb149 100755 --- a/2005/giljade/try.sh +++ b/2005/giljade/try.sh @@ -25,10 +25,11 @@ echo 1>&2 echo "$ ./giljade > out" 1>&2 ./giljade > out echo "For this next step, make sure to keep pressing space (or hold it down) (q = quit)." 1>&2 -echo "$ less out" 1>&2 +echo "$ less -X out" 1>&2 read -r -n 1 -p "Press any key to continue: " -less out +less -X out +echo 1>&2 echo "We've left the file 'out' for you in case you wish to open it in vi(m).
