fix HTML errors in authors.html

Try to fix things that the Nu HTML check is reporting.
It seems that "<p>..</p>" cannot span certain HTML elements.

Changed `bin/gen-authors.sh` VERSION from to "1.8 2024-04-16"
to "1.8.1 2024-04-16".

Run `make gen_authors` to perform the above and test under macOS.
