The author suggested that one should change the value of 'q' to
'0x82000820000000' in order to see a bug that they carefully avoided. To
make it easy to do this the alt version was added.
The Makefile has been improved so it's easier to change the dimensions
of the game: the author had put in the Makefile two macros that have the
width and height and these now are set to WIDTH and HEIGHT defined in
the Makefile so that one can just do something like:
make WIDTH=500 HEIGHT=500 all
rather than being forced to update the Makefile to do this.
The README.md file has been format/typo checked.
Unfortunately the renaming of the thanks-for-fixes.md to
thanks-for-help.md along with other changes with the it caused massive
merge conflicts. The file was out of order, there were a lot of >>>
lines etc.
I had to checkout the old file and update it for the changes I made this
morning. Unfortunately this does mean that the <a ..> anchors are no
longer there, relying on markdown to do that instead. That will have to
be fixed but I also noticed an error in that too. I am not sure if
that's because of the merge conflict or not though.
I will have to check that I got everything in order but I think I did as
I also added what I had added to it today.
That is the comments have a general form and if they're for the alt code
they're defined in the alt code section. If they're for the entry and
the alt code they're above the CDEFINE variable.
The thanks file has been updated where it was needed.
Now only entries that have not been done need this improvement.

Updated the `/inc/sidenav.default.html` file
to use an improved sidenav menu that includes
a link to "How to enter the IOCCC".
Fixed reference to FAQ entry regarding 'gets()' in `bugs.md`.

Fixed links into specific thanks file entries.
Added more info to FAQ 0.0 "How may I submit to the IOCCC?".
The temporary top level HTML files (contact.html, index.html,
judges.html, news.html, winners.html, years.html) have
a consistent set of links (w/o any bold links) that
match the revised `/inc/sidenav.default.html` sidenav menu.
These temporary top level HTML files are not yet being built
and so they do not yet use the `inc/*.html` system.
TODO: Turn contact.html, index.html, judges.html, news.html, winners.html,
and years.html into markdown files that markdown to HTML tools will generate.
