I noticed some issues in 2020/ferguson1/.winner.json that although is
for another issue I want to be sure to remember that this is one of the
ones that does in fact have a problem. Later on I can go through the
rest of them (not just mine but every one) and then make sure that
everything is okay.
Removed duplicate lines in manifest.numbers.
Fixed case problems with true, false and null.
Fixed leading and trailing whitespace problems.
Fixed multiple whitespace problems.
Improved fix_csv.sh to detect the above mentioned problems in
manifest.csv.
Updated manifest to reflect recent repo changes.
The ioccc.css Cascading Style Sheet has updated.
This CSS will serve as a model for generated HTML pages,
especially HTML generated form markdown.
The top level HTML pages will also use this CSS.
This CSS is intended to be functional, black/gray/white, and
good enough for testing purposes.
Added HTML page templates that will be used
by tools in forming HTML pages:
* tmp/template-top.html
* tmp/template-header.html
* tmp/template-footer.html
See the modified
[tmp/README.md](https://ioccc-src.github.io/temp-test-ioccc/tmp/README.md#templates)
for info on the HTML page templates.
Added a test page containing dummy HTML:
* [tmp/test.html](https://ioccc-src.github.io/temp-test-ioccc/tmp/test.html)
This test page was generated from the above mentioned HTML page templates.
It is designed for 3 screen sizes:
* wide screens: 801 pixels wide and larger
* medium-sized screens: 401 pixels to 800 pixels wide
* small-sized screens: 400 pixels wide and smaller
NOTE: Some of top and side bar navigation links do not (yet) work.
If all goes well, the main web site can launch with web pages that
are based on the final ioccc.css. After the main web site is update,
a web designer can improve the look and feel of the web site by
adjusting the ioccc.css, the HTML templates, and the tools used to
generate HTML content.
Due to GitHub not serving nor rendering HTML files whose filename
starts with "." (dot), we renamed `.inventory.html` to `inventory.html`.
Renamed: `tmp/gen_dot_winner.sh` -> `tmp/gen_winner_json.sh`
Fixed URL generation for GitHub links in `inventory.html`.
The manifest was updated accordingly.
The `tmp/README.md` file was updated accordingly.
For 2020/ferguson1 as a test, we fixed the URLs generated
by `gen_dot_winner.sh`.
As GitHub seems to not want to render HTML of files
that start with "." we copied `2020/ferguson1/.inventory.html`
to `2020/ferguson1/inventory.html` as a test.
Fixed an incorrect author win for "1989_jar.2" in `author_wins.numbers`
and `author_wins.csv`.
Changed winner_JSON_format_version to "0.5 2023-11-04".
Added `gen_dot_winner.sh` tool to generate .winner.json and .inventory.html
for a winner. This tool uses [pandoc](https://pandoc.org) to convert
markdown to HTML.
Used this command to generate `.winner.json` and `.inventory.html` for
all winners:
```sh
./run_all.sh -v 1 -D 1 ./gen_dot_winner.sh
```
Updated `tmp/README.md` to reflect the above.
Retired "fake.gen_inventory.sh" to `tmp/OLD_manifest/fake.gen_inventory.sh`.
Added `-D level` flag to `run_all.sh` to specify the `-v level` for
the tool that is being run.
Moved winners_rank to 4th.
Moved ext to 11th.
Renamed path to file_path.
Updated README.md, fix_csv.sh accordingly.
Fix comment cut and paste error in fake.gen_inventory.sh.
I do not know if I completed it properly in manifest.numbers as I'm not
sure if I have th winner_rank value right: I just took it from another
try.sh field.
The path_list.{found,manifest,required}.txt files were also updated.
With a slight modification so that the script uses git ls-files so that
it only acts on files called README.md under the directories of the
years (i.e. '[0-9]{4}/*README.md') that are under git control this
script formats headers so that the spacing before lines starting with
'##' (as in '^##') are correct. It checks for specific header names.
More could be added if necessary and if any heading level is wrong or it
is decided that a different heading level might be better the regexp can
be modified to fix it as well.
This script will be useful to run after every README.md file has been
updated.
Added to tmp/ as it is likely (or possibly?) a temporary tool that might
not be needed after the temp-test-ioccc repo is merged back into the
winner repo. On the other hand it might be useful to use after new
contests are run or even after some major edits of README.md files.
Uses perl in a bash loop.
I can't help it and everyone knows it too. Even a typo in a temporary
file is a terrible tragedy that must be fixed. It has to be done. It
cannot be ignored! You might just want to call me the IOCCC corrections
officer! :-)
The `.id` files are no longer needed and so they were removed.
The `winner_id` (the contents of the `.id` files) are simply
a concatenation of "year" and "_" and "dir".
Adjusted `.inventory.html`, `tmp/README.md`,
`tmp/fake.gen_inventory.sh`, and the manifest according
to the above.
The new tool, tmp/fake.gen_inventory.sh, now adds
a fake .inventory.html file to each winner entry.
Once the winner2nventory tool is written, the .inventory.html
will contain links to all winner files listed in the inventory.
For now, the tmp/fake.gen_inventory.sh tool just creates
a placeholder file.
