Fix a race condition where forwarding through a public zero-conf channel
could fail with UnknownNextPeer when using the confirmed SCID. The issue
occurred because ReportShortChanID (which updates the switch's baseIndex
to handle the confirmed SCID) was called AFTER addToGraph (which announces
the confirmed SCID to the network).
With slow backends like postgres, addToGraph takes significant time,
creating a window where other nodes learn about the confirmed SCID from
gossip and attempt to route through it, but the receiving node's switch
hasn't been updated yet to handle forwards using the confirmed SCID.
The fix reorders operations to call ReportShortChanID before addToGraph,
ensuring the switch is ready to handle the confirmed SCID before it's
announced to the network. Forwards using either the alias or confirmed
SCID will work since getLinkByMapping uses baseIndex to map both to the
same link in forwardingIndex.
Fixes flaky test: zero_conf-channel_policy_update_public_zero_conf
Introduced a new config value `upfront-shutdown-address`
in the `lnd.conf` file. This ensures that channel close
funds are transferred to the specified shutdown address.
The value applies to both the funder and the fundee but
can be overridden by the value specified during
`openchannel` or by the `channel acceptor`.
NOTE: If this field is set when opening a channel with a
peer that does not advertise support for upfront shutdown
feature, the channel open will fail.

In preparation for adding a NodeAnnouncement2 struct along with a
NodeAnnouncement interface, this commit renames the existing
NodeAnnouncment struct to NodeAnnouncement1.
We add an extra option to the AddLocalAlias method which only controls
whether we store a reverse lookup from the alias back to the base scid
it corresponds to. The previous flag "gossip" is still maintained, and
in a way supercedes the new flag (it will also store the base scid
lookup even if the base lookup flag isn't set). The only call that sets
this option is the XAddLocalChanAlias RPC endpoint, where we want to
make sure that a reverse lookup is stored in the alias manager in order
to later expose it via the new RPC method.
This change ensures that a channel's ConfirmationHeight is recorded in the
database once its funding transaction receives its initial confirmation.
By doing so, we establish a reliable reference point to monitor the
channel's progress toward the required confirmation depth.

In this commit, we complete the migration to lnutils.SpewLogClosure for
the remaining application-layer components. This includes the autopilot
channel management system, the funding manager, the RPC server, and the
invoice storage subsystem.
Use the new feature of Go 1.24, fix linter warnings.

- itest, lntest: use ht.Context() where ht or hn is available
- in HarnessNode.Stop() we keep using context.Background(), because it is
called from a cleanup handler in which t.Context() is canceled already.
Replace all usages of the "github.com/go-errors/errors" and
"github.com/pkg/errors" packages with the standard lib's "errors"
package. This ensures that error wrapping and `errors.Is` checks will
work as expected.
If there's an error occured when updating the peer's status after the
channel status is changed, we now make sure we log the error instead of
letting it interrupt the channel open/close flow.
This modifies the various channelnotifier notification functions
to instead hit the server and then call the notification routine.
This allows us to accurately modify the server's maps.
Here we introduce the access manager which has caches that will
determine the access control status of our peers. Peers that have
had their funding transaction confirm with us are protected. Peers
that only have pending-open channels with us are temporary access
and can have their access revoked. The rest of the peers are granted
restricted access.
This commit adds an integration test that
verifies the funding timeout behavior in the
funding manager, in dev/integration test.

Find and replace all nolint instances refering to the `lll` linter and
replace with `ll` which is the name of our custom version of the `lll`
linter which can be used to ignore log lines during linting.
The next commit will do the configuration of the custom linter and
disable the default one.
All the structs defined in the `channeldb/models` package are graph
related. So once we move all the graph CRUD code to the graph package,
it makes sense to have the schema structs there too. So this just moves
the `models` package over to `graph/db/models`.
In this commit, we start to use the new AuxSigner to obtain+verify aux sigs for all second level HTLCs. This is similar to the existing SigPool, but we'll only attempt to do this if the AuxSigner is present (won't be for most channels).
In preparation for adding the new ChannelAnnouncement2 message along
with a ChannelAnnouncement interface, we rename the existing message to
ChannelAnnouncement1.
In preparation for adding a new message, AnnounceSignatures2 along with
an AnnounceSignatures interface, we rename the existing message to
AnnounceSignatures1.
For the initiator, once we get the signal that the PSBT has been
finalized, we'll call into the aux funder to get the funding desc. For
the responder, once we receive the funding_created message, we'll do the
same.
We now also have local+remote aux leaves for the commitment transaction.
Some old TODO comments that in retrospect aren't required anymore are
removed as well.
In this commit, we make a new `AuxFundingController` interface capable of processing messages off the wire. In addition, we can use it to abstract away details w.r.t how we obtain a `AuxFundingDesc` for a given channel.
We'll now use this whenever we get a channel funding request, to make sure we pass along the custom state that a channel may require.
This lets us get rid of the mutex usage there. We also shift the algo slightly to increment by 1, then use that as the next value, which plays nicer with the atomics.
This commit breaks the ChannelConstraints structure into two
sub-structures that reflect the fundamental differences in how
these parameters are used. On its face it may not seem necessary,
however the distinction introduced here is relevant for how we
will be implementing the Dynamic Commitments proposal.
This commit is a large refactor that moves over various responsibilities
from the ChannelRouter to the graph.Builder. These include all graph
related tasks such as:
- graph pruning
- validation of new network updates & persisting new updates
- notifying topology update clients of any changes.
This is a large commit but:
- many of the files are purely moved from `routing` to `graph`
- the business logic put in the graph Builder is copied exactly as is
from the ChannelRouter with one exception:
- The ChannelRouter just needs to be able to call the Builder's
`ApplyChannelUpdate` method. So this is now exported and provided to
the ChannelRouter as a config option.
- The trickiest part was just moving over the test code since quite a
bit had to be duplicated.
