In this commit we change how we select invoices to follow or delete when
starting the InvoiceRegistry to instead of using the deperecated scan
func from channeldb, use specific functions to gather pending and delete
canceled invoices.
* multi: extend InvoiceDB methods with a context argument
This commit adds a context to InvoiceDB's methods. Along this refactor
we also extend InvoiceRegistry methods with contexts where it makes
sense. This change is essential to be able to provide kvdb and sqldb
implementations for InvoiceDB.
* channeldb: restrict invoice tests to only use an InvoiceDB instance
* docs: update release notes for 0.18.0
Since the cert pair is written with a subsequent call to
cert.WriteCertPair we can safely remove the two file paths from the
argument list of cert.GenCertPair.
In case of a multi shard payment with more than one in-flight shards,
one shard quitting with a terminal failure will stop the payment
lifecycle and close the `shardHandler`'s `quit` channel. In the
`collectResult` function we're waiting for the `Switch` to
asynchronously return a result for each shard. This may have been
interrupted by the aformentioned `quit` channel's closing skipping
attempt failure (or success) notification towards the control tower
and therefore skipping proper settle/fail info fill in the channel db.
Since payments have a composite state of a global failure reason and
settle/fail info for all attempts, any attempt with an unfilled
settle/fail info keeps a payment in-flight even if the payment itself
isn't in-flight anymore.
This commits adds the devrpc package which implements a subserver that
adds clean separation for RPC calls useful for development and
debugging. This subserver is only compiled in if the dev tag is set.
Furthermore the commit adds the devrpc.ImportGraph call which can
import a graph dump obtained from another node by calling DescribeGraph.
Since the graph dump does not include the auth proofs, the imported
channels will be considered private.
This commit adds the `force` flag to the `XImportMissionControl` RPC
which allows skipping rules around the pair import except for what is
mandatory to make values meaningful. This can be useful for when clients
would like to forcibly override MC state in order to manipulate routing
results.
Since bbolt returns references to internally stored data when storing
locally it's best to copy the byte slices returned or alternatively
convert them to string (which also makes a copy) to avoid crashes casued
by memory corruption.
It may happen that we do pathfinding while also attempt to change the
graph. In this case changing the database, channel state, graph while
reading from the same sources may create deadlocks. To resolve this we
change locking policy in the graph cache when pathfinding.
This commit extends the kvdb interface in a backwards compatible way
such that we'll be able to prefetch all keys in a bucket in one go reducing the
number of roundtrips.
This commit adds more full range caching to the STM such that we'll
be able to prefetch keys and ranges on the kvdb level. This will allow
us to reduce roundtrips to etcd do fast iteration of small ranges.
In this commit we add an extra config for enabling logging to an
external file when using embedded etcd. This can be useful when running
integration tests to see more details about etcd related issues.
This commit builds on the ideas of @cfromknecht in lnd/5153. The
addition is that the design is now simpler and more robust by queueing
up everything, but allowing maximal parallelism where txns don't block.
Furthermore the commit makes CommitQueue.Done() private essentially
removing the need to understand the queue externally.
This commit fixes an issue where subsequent transaction retries may have
changed the read/write sets inside the STM which in turn left junk
references to these keys in the CommitQueue. The left keys potentially
conflicted with subsequent transactions, queueing them up causing
througput degradation.
This commit changes missioncontrol's store update from per payment to
every second. Updating the missioncontrol store on every payment caused
gradual slowdown when using etcd.
We also completely eliminate the use of the cursor, further reducing
the performance bottleneck.
The bucket sequence we use as payment sequence makes the DB update in
InitPayment conflict and therefore queue up when many concurrent
payments happen. This change allocates payment sequences in blocks
of 1000 to avoid these conflicts.
This commit removes an assertion which is not needed because with etcd
we can safely create keys and values with the same key since they are
stored under different keys in the DB. This saves us one unnecessary Get
on every Put.
The etcd cursor Delete stepped to the next item in the range before
Delete to not invalidate the iteation. This is unnecessary and not
compatible with bbolt, resulting in an extra fetch too.
